TEDxSISS Youth 2023 – 2024
Goals & Objectives
To create a useful academic playground similar to the famous TEDxTalk event so that students have the opportunity to demonstrate their bravery, personal opinions, and public speaking skills, Sydney International School System (SISS) will organize the TEDxSISS Youth 2023 – 2024. TEDxSISS Youth will be a competition where students encounter different areas of study, build confidence, and at the same time connect with friends who are willing to overcome the limits to challenge themselves on a big playground.
Participants
All students can register to participate according to the following groups:
- Primary School: Prep, Year 1, Year 2
- Primary School: Years 3 – 5
- High School: Years 6 – 7
Thông tin
School Round
- 21 – 01/03/2024: Students can register to participate in the School Round here.
- 26/02/2024: The School arranges members and Advisors for groups. Each group will include 3 – 5 students and 1 Advisor.
- 27/02/2024: The Kick-off Meeting will be held at the 43 Nguyen Thong Campus. The Organizing Committee will provide detailed information about the TEDxSISS Youth event and create opportunities for students to meet with their group members and Advisor.
- 04 – 06/03/2024: Students participating in the first Consulting Session at the campus need to:
- Prepare PowerPoint files and personal presentations with a length of 3 – 5 minutes
- Present ideas to their Advisor, receive feedback, and adjust their presentation
- Students, please submit the PowerPoint files to the email address: tedxyouth@siss.edu.vn before March 8, 2024.
- 11 – 13/03/2024: Students attend the second Consulting Session at the campus and present their edited presentation to their Advisor.
- 14/03/2024: Students participate in the School Round at the 43 Nguyen Thong Campus. Students will be given 3 – 5 minutes to present their presentation. The Organizing Committee will select the 3 best-performing students in each group to participate in the Final Round.
- 15/03/2024: The Organizing Committee will announce the results of the School Round. Students participating in the Final Round will continue to be assigned groups; each group will include 2 students and 1 Advisor.
Final Round
- 20 – 22/03/2024: Students participating in the third Consulting Session at the campus need to:
- Prepare Poơerpoint files and personal presentations with a length of 10 – 15 minutes
- Present ideas to their Advisor, receive feedback, and adjust their presentation
- Students, please submit the Poơerpoint files to the email address: tedxyouth@siss.edu.vn before March 24, 2024.
- 27 – 29/03/2024: Students attend the fourth Consulting Session at the campus and present their edited presentation to their Advisor.
- 28/03/2024: Students attend the Rehearsal at the 43 Nguyen Thong Campus.
- 30/03/2024: Students participate in the Final Round at the 157 Ly Chinh Thang Campus. Students will be given 10 – 15 minutes to present their presentation. The Organizing Committee will award trophies and certificates to students participating in the Final Round.
SISS "speakers" shined on the stage of TEDxSISS Youth 2024
On March 14, 2024, the School Round of TEDxSISS Youth 2024 welcomed the participation of 27 young “speakers” from many different year levels.
Being young people with many innovative and creative ideas and extensive knowledge in many fields, the Jaguars delivered impressive presentations with multi-dimensional perspectives on the following three topics:
- Journey to Discovering Passion and Talents
- Building a Better World: Youth as Changemakers
- Climate Action Now: Youth Leading the Way
After the competition, every “speaker” appeared excited and confident while standing on stage today, proving the result of their dedicated efforts in researching the topic, preparing presentations, practicing public speaking, and, above all, overcoming their boundaries.
Every entry was excellent and left an impression, which will surely give the Organizing Committee a “headache” as they find the 9 best contestants to advance to the Final Round taking place on March 30, 2024, with the special participation of Parents.
