First Step to the Journey of the Academic Year 2024 – 2025

On August 19, the teachers and students of the Sydney International School System (SISS) gathered to welcome a new academic year together, marking the beginning of a new chapter in our journey toward building a happy future for young digital citizens.

With warm hugs and affectionate looks, the First Day of School event of the SISS community began with joyful emotions as students reunited with their friends and teachers after the summer break. SISS teachers and students then paused to listen to heartfelt messages from the Board of Principals, sharing their hopes and encouragement at the threshold of a new academic year.

Motivated by the Board of Principals’ inspiring words, the Jaguars eagerly participated in the First Day of School activities, preparing themselves in the best spirit to embark on a new academic journey full of surprises.

The magic show, with its captivating performances, brought moments of entertainment and hearty laughter to the students. The atmosphere became more energetic as students fully engaged in the physical games and experiential activities. The All About Me activity provided an opportunity for the Jaguars to get to know and connect with one another, strengthening existing friendships and beginning new ones. They continued to explore each other’s wishes, aspirations, and dreams through the Icebreaker activity. The students’ teamwork and harmony were further showcased in the Carnival’s team games. Food stalls served as energy stations, allowing the Jaguars to recharge and enjoy the day’s activities.

The First Day of School celebration was especially significant for the Prep, Year 1, and Year 6 students. It was not only the start of a new academic year but also their first steps into a completely new educational environment.

The familiarization and exploration activities helped ease their initial feelings of unfamiliarity and nervousness, allowing them to open their hearts to the love and guidance of their teachers and seniors. Through these experiences, they gradually understood the spirit of connection and companionship at the happy school of SISS.

The First Day of School event concluded with a meaningful gift from SISS teachers to the Jaguars: a music video featuring lyrics based on Jungkook’s song Dreamers.

The powerful lyrics carry the teachers’ message to the students for the new academic year: “We Celebrate You ‘Cause We See Your Power”!

With the theme “Wellness Blossoms Where Innovation Leads”, the academic year 2024 – 2025 at SISS welcomes the Jaguars with valuable and exciting learning experiences through innovations in teaching methods, knowledge acquisition, and advanced technological applications. The series of events and activities throughout the academic year will be improved to foster a positive learning environment, focusing on nurturing students’ well-being and personal development.
