Bringing home prestigious medals from the District 3 Student Sports Competition, how did our talented Jaguars feel about their achievements, and what strategies are they planning to enhance in their training after the competition?

At SISS, our happy residents don’t just excel in academics. They actively participate in competitions both within and beyond the school, showcasing their talents and passions. Competing in various events at the District 3 Student Sports Competition, our Jaguars displayed remarkable confidence and gained valuable experience along the way.

The SISS community showered praise on all Jaguars, especially the 3 talented Jaguars who brought home impressive awards in Chess and Swimming.

“Although I felt nervous and tense during the competition, I tried to maintain my confidence, thanks to the support of my family, teachers, and friends. I am proud of my performance and delighted to win my first Silver Medal for the School.” Lam Kien Tuong, a Year 6 student, was unable to hide his excitement about his exceptional achievement.

Following Kien Tuong’s success, Lam Nhat Minh, another Year 6 Jaguar with outstanding abilities in swimming, claimed a Silver Medal in the 50m Breaststroke in the Secondary School group. Facing tough competitors, Nhat Minh remained undaunted, saying, “The competition was quite challenging, but I believe I gave it my all to reach the finish line.”

In the Primary School group, Nguyen Tuan Khoi, a Year 4 student, brought home 2 incredible medals: a Gold Medal in the 50m Breaststroke and a Silver Medal in the 100m Breaststroke. Tuan Khoi shared, “I gained an advantage in the early rounds by warming up thoroughly, which made me feel confident and fearless to deliver a strong performance.”

Every competition leaves room for regrets. For Nhat Minh, he reflected, “The close margin at the end of the competition made me feel I could have done better. Moving forward, I plan to practice regularly every weekend and avoid injuries.” Similarly, Tuan Khoi expressed both pride and determination to achieve even more, “Although I’m happy with the results, I wish I could have won Gold in both events, especially the 100m Breaststroke. I tend to get tired easily, which holds me back. I’ll make sure to improve my stamina, eat nutritiously, and strengthen my physical fitness to achieve better results in future competitions.”

Sharing his future plans, Kien Tuong agreed with his peers, saying, “I will continue to train, sharpen my competitive skills, and learn strategies from friends to achieve even greater success in upcoming tournaments.”

The students also expressed heartfelt gratitude to their families and teachers for their unwavering support during the competition. Kien Tuong thanked his teachers for “guiding me through the rules, helping me improve my skills, and teaching me clever moves.” Nhat Minh appreciated his teachers for “providing great support before and during the competition.” Tuan Khoi extended his gratitude to Ms. Binh, his Homeroom Teacher; Mr. Dat, his Physical Education Teacher; and his mother, saying, “Throughout the competition, Ms. Binh, Mr. Dat, and my mom were always by my side, cheering me on and supporting me greatly. I want to send my heartfelt thanks to them.”

Thank you to all our Jaguars – the happy residents of the SISS forest – for being not only diligent students but also resilient, humble individuals who strive for growth every day. Let’s continue to support our Jaguars as they advance further on their journeys!
