House Sports Day “Chasing Glory - Racing Jaguars” was brimming with excitement

Participating in the valuable and exciting sports playground at the House Sports Day held on November 9th, 2023, Jaguars from all year levels had the opportunity to connect with each other to enhance the spirit of solidarity and learn many new things.

Through the journey of training and studying at Sydney International School System, Jaguars are determined to become digital citizens rich in knowledge, mentally strong, and physically healthy. Among them, the School focuses on the physical health of students through subjects in the fields of Personal Development, Health, and Physical Education, along with safe and challenging sports playgrounds. One of them is the House Sports Day “Chasing Glory – Racing Jaguars” which was held on November 9th, 2023.

Being involved in the House Sports Day, members of the four Houses, including Apollo, Athena, Zeus, and Asclepius, competed with each other in numerous sports. The House Sports Day opened with the House Flag parade led by the House Leaders of the Primary and Secondary Schools. To stir up the atmosphere, the Year 7 and Year 5 Jaguars also delivered two extremely exciting and beautiful cheering performances.

After boosting their spirits and making preparations, the Jaguars entered the competition full of confidence and determination. The drops of sweet sweat, the bursts of laughter, the exciting cheer dance performances, the persistent eyes showing determination to beat the opposing team, the beautiful victory celebrations – all the images captured a memorable House Sports Day for the Jaguars.

The students in the competition group of young Jaguars battled fiercely in games like soccer, tug of war, sack races, and obstacle races, and even displayed an incredibly strong sense of collaboration. The students in the competition group of big Jaguars were equally thrilled as they gave their all in games like soccer, dodgeball, and tug of war.

After hours of challenging competition, the Jaguars excelled in bringing back valuable points to their House. The final score is calculated according to the sum of the two competition groups. With the spirit of playing hard, the Jaguars brought about extremely balanced results.

Accordingly, the Jaguars from the House of Zeus took home the First-Place medal and the championship trophy. Following that, the House of Athena secured an outstanding Second Place, and at last, the House of Apollo and the House of Asclepius both secured Third Place and received school badges. The image of students celebrating their victory contributed to shortening the gap between them and demonstrated the solidarity of the SISS community.

Not only that, the students also had the opportunity to enhance their physical fitness, promote sportsmanship, express their passion for their favorite subject, and develop many other important skills. That is also the “bare fruit” that the School has achieved when bringing students to this dynamic sports playground, thereby helping them lay the groundwork for a happy future by forming a lifelong connection to sports and physical activity.
