Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

When I think about 2023 and all of the wonderful moments we have experienced together, it’s important to thank those who shared this experience with the SISS family.

It is once again my great honour to write the Principal’s Message for our December Monthly Newsletter. Unlike the previous two letters which focused on our monthly themes from our Core Values, the topic of this letter is more in line with what December tends to symbolize: celebrating and saying goodbye to the year that was and welcoming the new year to come.

First, when I think about 2023 and all of the wonderful moments we have experienced together, it’s important to thank those who shared this experience with the SISS family – namely, the parents and students. The love and support of parents are the most important factors for the development of children. It provides guidance, affection, and motivation. SISS Parents have played a tremendous role in helping our students grow and reach their true potential, so we truly thank you. Students, I would also like to give you a big thank you for your hard work, positive attitude, and love of learning. 2023 wouldn’t have been the same without you, so I am forever grateful to have you as our little Jaguars.

Of course, when one thinks about December, they also think about Christmas. From December 11, SISS held its first Christmas Festival: Jingle All the Way to SISS. It was a tremendous success. There were wonderful student performances, a Fair to buy food, drinks, and toys, Christmas arts and crafts, games, and of course a visit from Santa Claus. My personal satisfaction was seeing the love and joy on our students’ faces, which was a testament to the success of this joyous event. I appreciate the efforts of all of those who made this event efficacious, and I very much look forward to the next one.

Finally, I would like to welcome the year to come, which will be very jam-packed with many incredible events. In addition to the Tet holidays, we will have Sports Week, TEDxYouth@SISS, and many other activities. Especially, we will have a School Year Exhibition and our first Graduation Ceremony. I am looking forward to all of these wonderful events, so I am very excited about the year to come. A new year is like a new chapter in a developing book, waiting to be written. Let’s write this new chapter together and make it the best one yet.

“Here’s to a bright New Year and a fond farewell to the old; Here’s to the things that are yet to come and to the memories that we hold.”

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you all in 2024!
